Here's a quick update for you, our good friends.

Do you remember Buggy, the youngster we took in back in the '80s? Last fall his sister got married at our church. In the months since, she & her husband have stayed connected to us and attended some of our services. Then a couple of months ago, Buggy mom came down with a serious intestinal infection. After emergency surgery and several weeks in ICU, she passed away. I was asked by the family to do the eulogy at the funeral; I shared a few good memories and then explained what to do to have eternal life through Christ. Please say a prayer for the family, especially for Buggy sister, as this has been extremely difficult for her. Besides the loss of her mother she, too, has some real health issues. We had an unusually good visit with him when he came for the funeral.

Our Easter service was very encouraging; about 70 people came to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. As always in our service, there was a great spirit! But since then, though we continue to have the right spirit, our attendance has been only around 40. So many folks in our congregation have such overwhelming needs/problems that keep them from being consistent. One of the problems is sickness! The single mom who came back to the Lord had her baby the first of April and has struggled with some kind of virus since she got home from the hospital. Several others have also struggled with illnesses. Shelly herself has not been feeling well for about six weeks, has had to see doctors four different times, and has missed church twice.

Last weekend, several adults were able to take five teens from our church to a Puppet Festival in a Denver suburb. It was a wonderful Christian conference that inspired everyone! Over the past couple of years these kids have all been involved in puppet presentations here at Church of the Risen Lord. I love seeing kids have some wholesome fun who have had to face so many challenges in life! Pray that God would continue to watch over these kids and their families.

Again, thank you very much for allowing us to be here in this sometimes difficult, but strategic, ministry.
