This prayer request sent from Sandy March 16, 2010:

Please pray for us this Philippine "summer." We have been experiencing El Nino since January, and there is very little rain. The crops are dying, so farmers to consumers feel the loss of food and increase of prices in the market. The dams are drying up. (Imagine Hoover Dam) white line showing how low the water level has become.) The government is warning that in Mindanao, there is only enough hydro-electric supply for 40 days, and then we will experience longer brown-outs with no electricity. Currently, we have regular 2-hour brown-outs daily. This is occurring while the temperatures are 95+ degrees. Please pray for rain.

Through all this they have a team there from Benson, AZ. attempting to build a "CR project" (bathroom) at Hope Mountain. Between the large project and times of waiting they are doing extra projects, such as painting and replacing an old toilet already there in the main building.

Pray that the foundation will be laid and they can do some plumbing on the new CR before they are scheduled to leave March 23rd. They are "pouring cement mixed by hand" now... even though not all the trenches have been dug... in the columns that support the building. The soil is very hard, and tools have been broken. The team worked during the morning and the Filipino men took over in the heat of the afternoon.
